There is barely a human being alive that does not demand justice when innocent children are brutally slaughtered by a cold-hearted killer. What if that child was your own?
I cannot help but think of my own child when I see photos of the monster called Gosnell. My precious son could have easily been in line to be the next one stabbed and mutilated by this heartless killer or one of his accomplices.
Adopted at 5 weeks, the first thing I read in my son’s medical records was this statement, “The birthmother planned an abortion, but by the time she saved up enough money, it was too late”. Tears streamed down my face as I realized how close my sweet darling boy had been to destruction.
I wrapped my son in a warm embrace and gazed into his big brown twinkling eyes. What had God put in place that had made it possible for my son to survive? I immediately thanked God for allowing my son to be born in a state with some of the strictest late term abortion bans in the nation.
I wait, alongside many others, for the verdict in the murder trial of Kermit Gosnell. I wonder what will justice look like?
I don’t look to the eyes of the jurors for justice to come. I look to the hearts and minds of those who call themselves pro-life.
My sweet baby has grown into a delightful little boy with a hearty laugh and a contagious smile that brings joy to everyone he meets. I am sure there will come a day when we will talk about his past. I can imagine his sparkling eyes gazing at me while asking, “Mom, what did you do to help other kids like me survive?”
It is not enough to just talk about Kermit Gosnell. We must do something. Look for your state on this map. Let legislators hear from you. If you are in NC, you can find a list of pro-life legislation to advocate for at www.ncvalues.org. Let’s vindicate the victims by working together to create more survivors like my precious son.
I would like to think that even if a late term abortion ban had not been in place, an activist would have been at an abortion clinic to persuade my son’s birthmother to let him live. Many innocent babies out there are counting on us to do more than just hope.
We must all be willing to sacrifice our time, our money – whatever it takes to stop this abortion holocaust. The pro-life movement must progress from a part-time hobby to a full time profession if we are to stop the horrors of infanticide. No matter what you’re doing now, I urge you to consider doing even more.
“The issue of our day is the sanctity of life. We’re in a war, and this war goes to the core of our faith. There is a division here, between those that are going to absolutely defend the sanctity of life, and those who are not.
