With no explanation, the judge in the Kermit Gosnell abortion case dropped three of the murder charges against the doctor. Kermit Gosnell is the Philadelphia Abortion Doctor accused of delivering at least seven babies alive in botched abortions, and then snipping their necks with a scissors to sever the spinal cord and kill them. The judge has offered no explanation, but seems to have accepted the notion that three of those babies were not alive since a drug that kills the infants had been injected during the procedure. This of course begs the question, why snip the spinal cord of a baby when she emerges if she was already dead? I am not a lawyer, or a judge, but that seems “overkill”, so to speak.
The whole case is revolting. I have forced myself to read the description of what happened in that clinic because I think our society has been hoodwinked into believing this is a better “choice” than bringing unwanted babies into the world. I also read Abby Johnson’s description of viewing an abortion on a monitor while assisting the doctor as the clinical director of a Planned Parenthood Abortion site. Ms. Johnson describes watching that little baby pull away from the tool that would slice him into little pieces before he was vacuumed away. That was the pivotal event that changed Abby Johnson, compelling her to leave Planned Parenthood and advocate for the rights of unborn children.
I cry when I read the accounts of what happens during abortions, or see the gruesome pictures. I read them on purpose, for the same reason I force myself to read the stories of Holocaust survivors, or prisoners of war, or people who have wrestled their lives back from substance abuse. This is EVIL. No one watching a baby in the womb desperately pull away from the instrument which springs open full of razor fins to cut it apart can say this is what a civilized society should ever, ever do.
It is almost absurd to me that the same people who support the barbaric act of abortion ask what has happened to our country. They, like all of us, cry out: How can people go on murderous rampages and slaughter innocent children? How can there be such a callous disregard for life?
I would suggest for a start, we don’t need to look any further than the notion that our government, our country, our laws support the right to dismember, poison, and suck away human life just as it has the whole promise of a future before it. And even worse, we self righteously proclaim, I myself don’t support abortion, but I will not remove the right of someone else to do so. I cannot help but wonder if that baby had a voice louder than the desperate, futile attempts to pull away from the abortion knife, would he agree?
